Metal and Polyethylene Terephthalate, Diabetic Blood Glucose Test Strips

Biomedical sensors, biomedical chips

The sensor is installed in medical technology or biotechnology, such as diabetic blood glucose test strips, rapid infectious disease test strips, animal/plant test strips (e.g., dengue fever), etc. The original gold-plated film spreads all over the flexible film.

Laser micro-etching is employed to remove the gold-plated film to produce the circuit. The pattern that laser micro-etching can produce is relatively diverse. Laser micro-etching can be employed to implement surface microtexturization / microstructuration and produce microfluidic channels. Laser irradiation can then be employed to attach biomedical sensing materials to fabricate sensor strips.

Hortech owns patented technologies regarding the above processes, including:
1. Laser micro-etched circuits on thin or thick conductive films.
2. Laser surface microtexturization / microstructuration for microfluidic channel production.
3. Laser micro-drilling for hole production.
4. Laser irradiation for material lamination.

Laser Micro-Etched Metal Thick Film Test Strips

Hortech first plates flexible substrates with thick metal films and then employs laser micro-etching to produce sensor circuits. This helps significantly reduce the cost of biomedical sensors. Laser micro-etching is employed to produce precise circuits that generate highly sensitive sensing functions.
